GLOCK 32 Gen4 Review

GLOCK 32 Gen4 Review

When you pick up a firearm, what do you think about?

I bet nobody thinks “Practical”, right? I know I didn’t. For example: when I picked up my first Glock 19 and felt the light weight and the nice balance between muzzle and grip, all I could think about was how practical this gun was for everyday carry. I spent $500-$700 on a pistol that was designed as a simple workhorse for professionals to carry daily without any frills or tacky accessories.

So why would anybody want to spend an additional $200 on something called “The GLOCK 32 Gen4 MOS (Modular Optic System)”? Well, I’ll tell you why because it’s actually not just another pretty accessory to put on your gun. The GLOCK 32 Gen4 MOS is a game changer.

If you’re not familiar with the MOS system, it’s a slide that has been cut out to allow for the mounting of various optics directly to the slide itself. This eliminates the need for additional mounts or adapters and results in a much more streamlined and lightweight setup. When paired with an optic like the Burris FastFire III, the GLOCK 32 Gen4 MOS becomes an incredibly versatile and accurate pistol.

I was able to test this setup at an outdoor range and I have to say that I was blown away by how well it performed. With its 3 MOA red dot, the FastFire III allowed me to make quick, accurate shots on plate racks and even group my rounds on paper at distance. The FastFire III also makes for a very solid home defense option due to its large front bead which allows you to easily acquire your target.

If you think about it, the MOS system is actually kind of brilliant. Not only does it look great but works incredibly well. So far I haven’t run into any problems with mounting or zeroing my optic so overall I would say this is an excellent system that really improves the versatility of my 32 Gen4 whether they are being used as a range gun, nightstand gun or self-defense pistol. Just keep in mind if you decide to get one of these slides, they aren’t compatible with previous generation GLOCK models.

If you’re in the market for a new Glock and are looking for something with a little more versatility, I would highly recommend checking out the GLOCK 32 Gen4 MOS. It’s just what you need to take your shooting to the next level. Thanks for reading!

We will be doing a simple comparison between two Glock 32 Gen4 pistols – one with standard factory barrel (of course), and other one sent to me by Fime Group after they finished their good deeds for the week . The latter has Storm Lake Match grade stainless steel drop-in replacement barrel that is ported as well as having polygonally rifled bore which should theoretically provide for better accuracy and muzzle control.

Both guns were fired side by side at the same targets from the same distance, with the same ammunition (Federal Classic Hydra-Shok 155 gr. JHP) and I have to say that there was a very little difference noticed in terms of group sizes – both pistols produced tight clusters of shots. However, I did find that the ported barrel gun seemed to be bit more comfortable to shoot and had less muzzle rise, which allowed for faster follow-up shots.

All in all, I would say that if you are looking for an aftermarket barrel for your Glock 32 Gen4 that would improve accuracy and make it easier to handle, then Storm Lake is definitely a company worth checking out.

As for the rest of the gun, it is a standard Glock 32 Gen4 setup built upon a common Aluminum-alloy “Univeral” frame with matte black finish and accessory rail. Gun comes standard with polymer sights (adjustable for windage), two 10-round magazines, proprietary locking block rail system and hexagonal rifling in the barrel.

Glock 32 Gen4 features deeper, more funneled magazine well as compared to its predecessor that allows faster reloads by guiding fresh mags into place without looking. A simple push on the button located at the bottom of grip tang will release empty mag from the frame quickly and easily. Also, there is no annoying lock bar on this gun – just pull back slide slightly and release to remove slide (if it is not locked back of course).

Other features worth noting are the new Glock Marksman Barrel (GMB) that has polygonal rifling instead of traditional lands-and-grooves; extended beavertail; dual recoil spring system; reversible magazine catch; serrated grip frame front strap (for more secure grip); enlarged magazine catch button (easier to manipulate even when wearing gloves); better trigger guard shape for improved manual dexterity when handling weapon in extreme weather conditions. Working with Law Enforcement agencies, Glock developed Safe Action system specifically for duty use – striker fired mechanism with three independent, automatic safeties that engage sequentially as trigger is pulled:

When first pressure is applied to the trigger, safety lever blocks the striker from moving forward. As long as pressure is maintained on the trigger, lever will not move out of the way and striker will not contact firing pin. If finger lifts off of the trigger after the initial pressure, lever moves out of the way and striker can contact firing pin.

Once gun is fired, disconnector immediately seperates the firing pin from the striker. This prevents hammer from following the fired round all the way back into battery and consequently keeps it in a “safe” condition. Trigger bar is also protected by a raised shelf that stops it from being engaged unless entire weight of the gun is first transferred to it (this eliminates any possibility of accidental discharge if gun is dropped).

As you can see, there are quite a few safety features built into the Glock 32 Gen4 and it really does show in terms of overall reliability. I have put well over 1,000 rounds through each of these guns without so much as a single malfunction – not something you can say about all firearms out there. Granted, I did not use cheap ammo for this test, but still…

Glock has always been know for their high quality, durable and reliable firearms and the Glock 32 Gen4 is no exception. If you are looking for a good all-around pistol that can be used for both personal defense and target shooting, then I would definitely recommend checking out the Glock 32 Gen4.

I was recently given the opportunity to test out the new Storm Lake Barrel for Glock 32 Gen4 and I have to say that I was really impressed. The barrel is machined from 416R stainless steel and features 1 in 9.84 inch twist rate, which is ideal for both lead and jacketed ammunition. It also has ports on the top of the barrel that help to reduce muzzle rise, which allowed for faster follow-up shots. All in all, I would say that if you are looking for an aftermarket barrel for your Glock 32 Gen4 that would improve accuracy and make it easier to handle, then Storm Lake is definitely a company worth checking out.As for the rest of the gun, it is a standard Glock 32 Gen4 setup built upon a common Aluminum-alloy frame. It features a 4.48 inch barrel and overall length of 7.28 inches, which makes it slightly more compact than its predecessor that allows faster reloads by guiding fresh mags into place without looking. A simple push on the button located at the bottom of grip tang will release empty mag from the frame quickly and easily. Also, there is no annoying lock bar on this gun – just pull back slide slightly and release to remove slide (if it is not locked back of course).Other features worth noting are the new Glock Marksman Barrel (GMB) that has polygonal rifling instead of traditional lands-and-grooves; extended beavertail; dual recoil spring system; reversible magazine catch; serrated grip frame ( front and back); larger magazine catch opening (to accept magazines with extended base pads); optional back straps in three different sizes (small, medium, and l); better trigger guard shape for improved manual dexterity when handling weapon in extreme weather conditions. If finger lifts off of the trigger after the initial pressure, lever moves out of the way and striker can contact firing pin. If trigger is pulled fully to the rear, safety lever is automatically released and striker will contact firing pin.As you can see, there are quite a few safety features built into the Glock 32 Gen4 and it really does show in terms of overall reliability. The Glock 32 Gen4 is a great choice for anyone looking for an affordable, reliable and durable pistol. This gun is perfect for both personal defense and target shooting, thanks to its combination of features that make it easy to handle and accurate.
